Overview
Zhangjiajie lies deep in the Wuling Mountains, comprising the urban Yongding district, Wulingyuan district and counties such as Cili and Sangzhi. The core Wulingyuan Scenic Area joins Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Tianzi Mountain, Suoxiyu and Yangjiajie, where thousands of sandstone peaks rise amid seas of cloud.

The classic route takes in Yuanjiajie's "Heaven Pillar" and "No.1 Bridge," Tianzi Mountain's pinnacles and Helong Park, and the secluded Jinbian Stream; Tianmen Mountain's Tianmen Cave, winding road and cliff glass walkway are thrilling.
