The 27th Hainan International Tourism Island Carnival, themed 'Vibrant Free Trade Port, Charming Hainan Island,' opened on July 18 at Changying Fantasy Park.
The 27th Hainan International Tourism Island Carnival empowers the upgrading of cultural tourism consumption. With the theme "Vibrant Free Trade Port, Charming Hainan Island," this year's carnival opened on July 18 at the Changying Fantasy Land.
First, innovating the festival model. For the first time, the opening ceremony was set at a scenic area, achieving IP resonance through "festival + theme park." The main venue at Changying Fantasy Land simultaneously launched immersive projects such as a water light-and-shadow show and an aerial show combining drones and fireworks; 37,700 visitors entered the park on the day of the opening ceremony, and about 215,000 visitors were received in total during the opening ceremony series of events from July 18 to August 2. The main venue was complemented by a 50,000-square-meter Carnival Island market, offering a one-stop cultural tourism consumption carnival. Second, building a cultural exchange platform. A grand float parade was launched for the first time, gathering floats from six scenic areas including Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park and Botanical Garden, Ocean Flower Island, and Yanoda, as well as formations from three scenic areas including Sanya International Duty-Free City, Wuzhizhou Island, and Wenchang Tongguling. The intangible cultural heritage performances brought together 13 distinctive intangible cultural heritage items such as Danzhou Diaosheng, Chaoyang Yingge dance, Sichuan opera face-changing, and Shaowu Nuo dance, with online dissemination exceeding 200,000 views; the bamboo dance pioneered an "all-people joint dance" mode, with 20 city and county teams and more than 400 performers taking part in immersive interaction. Third, broadening the inter-provincial cooperation network. It linked key source markets such as Guangdong, Chongqing, and Fujian, as well as overseas travel agents from Russia, Belarus, Thailand, and Australia, inviting a total of 116 guests. Cultural tourism cooperation agreements were signed with Henan and Shaowu, building a "multi-province linkage, multi-stop journey" source-market exchange mechanism. In parallel, stepwise parallel inspection routes in Haikou, Qionghai, Wanning, and Sanya were designed, showcasing the advantages of Hainan Province's cultural tourism industry chain across the board. Fourth, promoting consumer benefits. The "flight + hotel" cultural tourism consumption subsidy was upgraded; scenic areas, hotels, and duty-free stores across the province launched exclusive discounts; and nighttime consumption scenes such as the "Coconut Breeze Goodies · Haikou Gifts" shopping island and ice-beer food parties were created. A multi-platform, three-dimensional communication matrix was built, with total exposure reaching 200 million person-times as of August 3.
