2026 China Tourism Day Qinghai Sub-Venue and 'Clear Yellow River' Series Launch in Kanbula

On May 19, the 2026 China Tourism Day Qinghai sub-venue and the 'Clear Yellow River' tourism series opened at Kanbula UNESCO Global Geopark in Jainca County.

On May 19, the 2026 'May 19 China Tourism Day' Qinghai sub-venue event and the 'Clear Yellow River' tourism series activities were launched grandly at Kanbula World Geopark in Jianzha County, Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.

This event closely follows the theme of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 'Enjoy Quality Tourism, Journey Together to Beautiful Landscapes,' with 'Meet the Clear Yellow River, Tour the Great Beautiful Qinghai' as the main thread. It is not only a concrete practice of Qinghai Province in deeply implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech and important instructions during his inspection tour of Qinghai and in implementing the national strategy for the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River basin, but also a landmark activity to revitalize and utilize Kanbula World Geopark, and a key measure to promote the upgrading of the international eco-tourism destination toward high quality and branding.

The launch ceremony site was lively. The promotional video for the 'Clear Yellow River' tourism belt played during the warm-up session presented a panoramic view of the magnificent scroll of the Qinghai Yellow River basin, where snow-capped mountains and glaciers, canyon danxia landforms, grasslands and wetlands, and cultural relics and historic sites complement one another. The organizers also released the 2026 'May 19 China Tourism Day' province-wide culture and tourism benefits package, covering multiple measures such as ticket discounts and exemptions at key scenic areas across the province, the distribution of culture and tourism consumption coupons, discounts on hotels and homestays, and preferential culture and tourism performances, so as to genuinely let the broad masses of tourists share the fruits of culture and tourism development. At the event site, the 'Taste Huangnan, Appreciate Intangible Cultural Heritage' agriculture-culture-tourism market was also opened, showcasing Huangnan Prefecture's intangible cultural heritage, cultural and creative products, and characteristic agricultural and pastoral products in a concentrated manner, so that traditional intangible cultural heritage can better integrate into modern life and radiate new vitality in the new era.

At the event site, a self-driving fleet of more than a hundred vehicles formed by self-driving enthusiasts from the nine provinces and autonomous regions along the Yellow River sounded their horns in unison and officially set off from Kanbula World Geopark. The fleet will start from the source of the Yellow River in Qinghai, advance eastward along the main stream of the Yellow River, pass through Gansu, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, and Henan, and finally arrive at the Yellow River estuary in Dongying, Shandong, linking up iconic ecological landscapes and cultural relics of the Yellow River basin throughout the journey, and presenting in a panoramic manner the magnificent scenery and profound cultural heritage of the Yellow River from its source to its mouth through forms such as self-driving experiences, cultural visits, and scenery check-ins.

In addition to the launch ceremony at the main venue, this event also carefully planned 13 series of supporting activities to show the natural endowments and cultural heritage of the Qinghai Yellow River basin in an all-round and multi-angle manner.
