On June 2, the 2026 World Tourism Cities Federation Beijing Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit opened in Beijing. With the theme 'Digital Intelligence Leading the Future of Tourism,' this year's summit lasted four days and included a series of activities such as the general assembly of members, council meetings, a special forum on cross-border tourism, a special forum on tourism facilitation, and exhibitions, attracting representatives from 73 cities in 56 countries and regions around the world.

At the opening ceremony, the '2026 World Tourism Destination Digital Intelligence Competitiveness Report,' compiled by the World Tourism Cities Federation in conjunction with the Pacific Asia Travel Association, was released. The report conducts a systematic and comprehensive assessment of key tourism cities around the world across multiple dimensions such as digital infrastructure layout, the implementation of smart applications, and the building of data services. In addition, the organizers also released Beijing's top ten cultural and tourism technology application scenarios, deeply integrating cutting-edge digital technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data, covering diverse business forms such as robotic smart services, AI residence butlers, and AIGC personalized content customization, and showcasing in a concentrated manner the foundation and hard power of Beijing's digital culture and tourism construction.

At the event site, 11 cities (institutions) including Anibeleklu, Aqaba, Bishkek, and the Tajikistan Shah Travel Company officially joined the World Tourism Cities Federation. The newly admitted member units jointly participated in launching the 'Beijing Initiative.'

This summit was hosted by the World Tourism Cities Federation and jointly organized by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the People's Government of Haidian District, Beijing. The World Tourism Cities Federation is the world's first international tourism organization with cities as its main body, initiated and established by Beijing, and currently has 263 members covering 89 countries and regions around the world.
