Building the 'Mountain-Sea: Fujian-Ningxia Shared Beauty' Agri-Culture-Tourism Brand
At a State Council Information Office press conference on East-West cooperation, Fujian said it will build an upgraded Fujian-Ningxia partnership and the 'Mountain-Sea: Fujian-Ningxia Shared Beauty' brand.
The State Council Information Office recently held a press conference to brief on the progress and results of East-West cooperation. It was introduced at the press conference that, at the new starting point of 30 years of Fujian–Ningxia cooperation, Fujian will strive to build an 'upgraded version' of Fujian–Ningxia cooperation, do a good job in upgrading industrial cooperation, and shape the 'Mountains and Seas · Fujian–Ningxia Shared Beauty' agriculture-culture-tourism brand.
According to a person in charge from the Fujian Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Fujian will proactively adapt to the new requirements of the stage of normalized assistance, focus on 'what Fujian can do,' 'what Ningxia needs' and 'Fujian–Ningxia strengths,' and continue to strive for excellence, take the lead and achieve results. For example, it will do a good job in ethnic unity and progress, carry out activities such as cultural exchanges, intangible cultural heritage performances and jointly created literary and artistic works, implement the 'Youth of All Ethnic Groups Exchange Program,' the 'Program for the Interembedded Development of People of All Ethnic Groups' and the 'Tourism Program to Promote Interaction, Exchange and Integration Among All Ethnic Groups,' integrate tourism resources, strengthen mutual market promotion and mutual visitor exchange, and promote interaction, exchange and integration among all ethnic groups through regular interaction.
According to a relevant person in charge from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, industrial cooperation is a key area of East-West cooperation. All parties to East-West cooperation have deeply tapped agriculture-culture-tourism resources in the western region, created 35 distinctive agriculture-culture-tourism routes, and jointly built more than 1,500 livable, workable and beautiful villages, driving faster development of rural areas in the western region and opening up new rural tourism destinations for citizens and tourists of the eastern region. Tianjin and Shandong, in cooperation with Gansu, tapped agriculture-culture-tourism resources of the Gansu heartland and selected and recommended distinctive routes such as the Hexi Corridor Silk Road Cultural Tour and agriculture-culture-tourism villages such as Zhagana in Gannan, jointly built culture and tourism cooperation brands such as 'Friendly Shandong, Auspicious Gansu' and 'Tianjin Citizens Tour Gannan,' and organized the three provinces and municipality to promote and exchange tourist sources with each other. In 2025, tourists from Tianjin and Shandong visiting Gansu exceeded 9.59 million person-times, an increase of nearly 700,000 person-times over the previous year.
The relevant person in charge from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs also said that the next step will be to uphold and expand the priorities of cooperation; implement the requirements of normalized assistance arrangements, adhere to combining what the west needs with what the east can do, and continue to uphold development-oriented assistance measures such as industrial cooperation and labor cooperation to continuously enhance the internal driving force for development; study, learn from and apply the experience of the 'Thousand Villages Demonstration and Ten Thousand Villages Improvement' project and jointly build livable, workable and beautiful villages; uphold mutual benefit and win-win results and deepen complementary advantages, actively expand cooperation in fields such as science and technology, culture and tourism, finance and green development, and achieve two-way empowerment and coordinated development in broader fields and at a deeper level.
