The 'Wellness Shanxi, Summer Retreat Shanxi' 2026 Shanxi Culture and Tourism Summer Promotion Season recently kicked off in the Ancient County Town of Taiyuan.
This promotion season closely follows the main thread of deep integrated development of culture and tourism and, in light of the characteristics of summer culture and tourism consumption, will, through approaches such as innovating marketing models, upgrading product supply and enriching experience scenarios, go all out to shape a new image of summer wellness and summer retreat culture and tourism and support the building of Shanxi into a strong culture and tourism province.
To fully stimulate the vitality of the summer culture and tourism consumption market, the Shanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism has coordinated the linkage of high-quality culture and tourism resources in 11 cities and, at the launch ceremony, released a new summer culture and tourism series activity plan, seven wellness sojourn scenarios and a premium homestay matrix. The series of activities includes the 2026 'Follow Wukong to Tour Shanxi' upgrading plan, the 'Three Jin, Four Seasons of Fine Scenery' slow-travel plan, the 'How Young! Ancient City' culture and tourism brand carnival, Follow Concerts to Tour Shanxi, and the 2026 Intangible Cultural Heritage Noodle Conference, linking upstream and downstream industries such as scenic areas, homestays, dining and cultural and creative products, building a virtuous cycle of 'experience and play, social communication, and consumption conversion,' and helping to precisely match diverse summer consumption needs such as family tours, parent-child tours, study tours and trendy tours for young people.
At the launch ceremony, the organizers highlighted 24 hidden-gem small cities and niche high-quality culture and tourism destinations in Shanxi Province and released 10 'Wellness Shanxi, Summer Retreat Shanxi' summer premium routes, guiding citizens and tourists to deeply appreciate the cultural heritage of Shanxi's ancient architecture and feel the everyday liveliness of its small towns.
