Key Events of Shanghai Tourism Festival Summer Season Announced
On July 8, the 37th Shanghai Tourism Festival Summer Season and the opening of the 'Masters of the Americas' exhibition were held at the Shanghai Museum, releasing the key summer events.
On July 8, the opening event of the summer tourism season of the 37th Shanghai Tourism Festival and of the "At the Top of the World Tree: Great Exhibition of Ancient American Civilizations" was held at the People's Square branch of the Shanghai Museum. Zhao Jiaming, member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and head of the Publicity Department, attended the event. José Luis Perea, deputy director of Mexico's National Institute of Anthropology and History, Carlos Vásquez, Peru's ambassador to China, and others delivered speeches. The key themed activities of the summer tourism season of the Shanghai Tourism Festival were released at the event.
It is understood that this year's Shanghai Tourism Festival will continue to deepen the long-cycle festival model of "one festival, two seasons," with activities running from July 8 to October 6. July 8 to August 31 is the "Summer Tourism Season," and September 1 to October 6 is the "Classic Activities Season," totaling 91 days across the two seasons and spanning the three golden consumption periods of the summer vacation, the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the National Day holiday. Among them, the "Summer Tourism Season" unfolds successively around six themes — Sea-side Charms, Cultural and Museum Heritage, Bustling Shanghai Life, Artistic Shanghai, Pastoral Countryside, and Exploring the Magic City — launching 170 high-quality culture and tourism themed products of various kinds; the "At the Top of the World Tree: Great Exhibition of Ancient American Civilizations" officially opened to the public from July 9 and runs until November 14, 2027. The two major activities opened on the same day, with festival and exhibition working in tandem, and combined with the citywide scene rollout of the Shanghai Tourism Festival, they provide abundant and diverse summer travel options for tourists from home and abroad.
This summer tourism season comes with thoughtful services to match: the citywide "Search for the World Tree" AR campaign spills the popularity of the Great Exhibition of Ancient American Civilizations from the museum out into the streets. Residents and tourists can use the "Hu Xiaoyou" urban life intelligent agent and the "Shanghai Tourism Festival" mini-program to check event details with one click and to claim themed combo tickets and various exclusive benefits, fully enjoying the city's culture and tourism feast that runs through summer and autumn.
