Greater Zhangjiajie International Tourism Area Holds First Joint Promotion

On July 29, the Greater Zhangjiajie International Tourism Area (Guangzhou) culture and tourism promotion and investment conference was held in Guangzhou.

On July 29, the Greater Zhangjiajie International Tourism Area (Guangzhou) Culture and Tourism Promotion and Industry Investment Conference was held in Guangzhou. Leaders from Hunan and Guangdong, including Gong Tiejun, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Huang Xizhong, second-level inspector of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and Xiang Rulian, vice mayor of Huaihua City, attended.

As the core project of Hunan's effort to build a world tourism destination, the Greater Zhangjiajie International Tourism Area covers 38 counties, cities, and districts, forming a layout of "one core, one base, two axes, three mountains, four poles, and five routes," and is committed to building a leading zone for the high-quality development of inbound tourism nationwide. This event was the first time the Greater Zhangjiajie International Tourism Area went outside Hunan to carry out concentrated promotion toward other provinces. For the first time, the five cities/prefectures of Zhangjiajie, Xiangxi, Huaihua, Shaoyang, and Changde issued a sincere invitation to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area under the unified brand image of "Greater Zhangjiajie."

In his speech, Gong Tiejun said that Guangdong is the benchmark for Hunan's culture and tourism to learn from and its most important strategic partner. Choosing to hold the promotion conference in Guangzhou this time is precisely to proactively connect with the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and to leverage Guangdong — this open window and source-market highland — to let the wonderful mountains and waters of Greater Zhangjiajie reach the whole country and the world.

As the rotating host city of this event, Huaihua promoted itself to the Greater Bay Area with "three new things": leveraging the Greater Zhangjiajie International Tourism Area to lift development to a new height; joining hands with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to open up a new pattern for Hunan and Guangdong; and inviting visitors to Huaihua, a blessed land of peace of mind, to unlock the new experience of "five nourishments and two gatherings."

Zhangjiajie City caught the eye with its Zhangjiajie landform of "three thousand peaks and eight hundred beautiful waters"; Xiangxi Prefecture highlighted "Mysterious Xiangxi, Home in Dreams"; Shaoyang City focused on promoting the World Natural Heritage Langshan Danxia; and Changde City invited people to their spiritual hometown as "the city in the Peach Blossom Spring." The five cities/prefectures each showcased their strengths, presenting wonderful mountains and waters, red memories, ethnic customs, and wellness vacation resources one by one.

At the promotion conference site, travel agency representatives from the Greater Zhangjiajie Tourism Area and the Greater Bay Area respectively signed tourist source mutual-delivery cooperation agreements in three major sections: the domestic market, the inbound market, and the study-tour market. Representatives of 36 travel agency enterprises, including Huaihua Tuyue International Travel Service Co., Ltd., Tiantian Holiday Travel Agency, Hunan Overseas Tourism Huaihua Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Hanxiang International Travel Service Co., Ltd., Huaihua Baozhong Tourism International Travel Service Co., Ltd., and Hunan Zhangjiajie Huatian International Travel Service Co., Ltd., went on stage in batches to sign. After the agreements were signed, the activity of "one million tourists from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area touring the Greater Zhangjiajie International Tourism Area" was launched at the same time.

The site also featured a culture and tourism market and a landscape photography exhibition, bringing the mountains, waters, customs, ethnic intangible cultural heritage, and authentic foods of the five places to Guangzhou. Specialties such as Jingzhou poria, Chenxi yellow peaches, and Mayang traditional brown sugar were a feast for the eyes; cultural and creative souvenirs from the five cities/prefectures were neatly displayed; and themed photographic works — Hongjiang Ancient Commercial Town, Dong village drum towers, Shanbei terraces, Tianmen Mountain, the Aizhai Bridge... — were laid out one after another, fully painting a long scroll of Wuling's mountains and waters.

Hunan and Guangdong are important source markets for each other. Guangdong Province firmly remains Hunan's largest out-of-province source market. As lines such as the Huaihua-Hengyang Railway and the Zhangjiajie-Jishou-Huaihua High-Speed Railway become denser, Guangdong and Hunan have entered the "same-city era," and it has become a reality to drink the Pearl River water in the morning and enjoy Chayan Yuese tea at noon.

The event was guided by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and jointly hosted by the culture and tourism departments of the five cities/prefectures of Huaihua, Zhangjiajie, Xiangxi Prefecture, Shaoyang, and Changde. During the event, the organizers will also hold pop-up store and culture and tourism livestream activities at the GZL (Guangzhilv) Mayflower Commercial Plaza store, continuing to promote to the public.
