An outstanding example of Qing-dynasty Lingnan ancestral architecture, celebrated for its intricate brick, wood and stone carvings and painted plasterwork, praised as a gem of Lingnan building art.
Also known as the Chen Clan Academy, the hall was built in the Qing dynasty and is one of the largest and most exquisitely decorated traditional ancestral halls surviving in Guangdong.
Its wood, brick and stone carvings and ceramic ridge ornaments are dazzling; today it also serves as the Guangdong Folk Art Museum, displaying treasures of traditional crafts.
