Situated in Fufeng, Shaanxi, Famen Temple was first built in the Eastern Han and is a long-standing Buddhist monastery, renowned for enshrining a finger relic of the Buddha.

Its Tang underground palace yielded many treasures, including gold and silver wares and secret-colour porcelain; the modern Namaste Relic Pagoda is imposing—a draw for Buddhist and archaeology enthusiasts.
