In downtown Chengdu, Kuanzhai Alley consists of three parallel old streets whose grey-brick courtyards showcase western Sichuan residential architecture. It is both a slice of old Chengdu life and a lively pedestrian district.
Teahouses, Sichuan opera stages, local snacks and craft shops line the lanes, making it ideal for strolling, photos and street food. After dusk the lights come on and the atmosphere turns especially lively.
