Xingping Ancient Town lies downstream on the Li River northeast of Yangshuo. A riverside town with a long history, it preserves old houses, lanes and stone-slab paths, and retains a simple everyday atmosphere.
The stretch of the Li River just outside the town is a classic view of Guilin's scenery, with peak forests mirrored in the water, and it often appears in photography and painting. Visitors can take a bamboo raft on the river or stroll leisurely through the town to enjoy the slow pace of life by the Li River.
