Potatso National Park lies in Shangri-La in Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan, and is one of China's earlier-established national parks. Its main landscapes are highland lakes, meadows, wetlands and primeval forest.
Lakes such as Shudu Lake and Bita Lake are clear, surrounded by lush vegetation in a well-preserved ecosystem, where yaks, horses and many bird species are often seen. Visitors can walk along boardwalks or take shuttle buses to enjoy the pure, tranquil natural atmosphere of the highlands.
