The Island Ring Road runs along the southeast coast of Xiamen Island, a seaside boulevard combining transport and sightseeing. One side faces the blue sea and beaches, the other is lined with trees and sculptures, and there are dedicated bike lanes and viewing platforms.
Along the way are stops such as Baicheng Beach, Huli Hill Fort and Zengcuo'an, suitable for cycling or walking. Watching the sunrise over the sea at dawn or strolling in the evening sea breeze is a popular way to enjoy Xiamen's slower pace.
