Yongding Tulou lies in Yongding District, Longyan, Fujian, about 150 km from Xiamen and roughly 2 hours by car. It is one of the representative areas of Fujian Tulou and was inscribed as part of the “Fujian Tulou” World Heritage Site in 2008.
The buildings are mainly circular and square rammed-earth structures with thick walls and ingenious design, serving both defence and residence. Grand examples such as Chengqi Lou and Zhencheng Lou have complete internal layouts of ancestral halls, wells and living quarters, reflecting the Hakka tradition of clans living together.
